Tura, Jan 22: As the country witnessed a historic moment on Monday, the people of Tura also joined the celebration by visiting temples in the town.

Speaking to Hub News, Anand Roy, Secretary Tura Thakurbari said, “We are very happy about this historic moment. We have organised procession in the morning, then we had Puja and now we have more than 5000 devotees visiting the temple for offering Puja and receiving blessings.”

Another devotee, Saran Singh, said, “It took 500 years for the historic day to happen. I am very happy and we are celebrating his ‘sthapana’. It’s a joyous day for us.”

In the evening, the Tura bazar area was lit by candles and diyas.

On Monday (January 22, 2024), the idol of Lord Ram was consecrated at Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Prime Minister Narendar Modi unveiled the idol of Lord Ram, calling it a historic moment. He said Lord Ram will no longer live in a tent but reside in a splendid temple. The grand event witnessed the presence of around 7000 VVIPs from across the nation and various fields and professions.

Following the consecration, the temple will be opened to the public from Tuesday (January 23, 2024) onwards.
