Agartala, Mar 16: The Ministry of Development of the North East Region (DoNER) has set up a five-member task force to accelerate investment in the northeastern states. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has been appointed as its convenor.
The task force includes DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, along with Chief Ministers Conrad K. Sangma (Meghalaya), Neiphiu Rio (Nagaland), and Prem Singh Tamang (Sikkim) as members.

Within six months, the task force will submit its report to the North Eastern Council (NEC). It will assess the current investment ecosystem—examining policies, incentives, and infrastructure—to craft a strategic roadmap positioning the region as a prime investment destination in key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, logistics, IT, and renewable energy.
The task force will also identify high-potential sectors and regions within the Northeast to develop focused investment clusters, fostering sector-specific hubs like agro-processing zones, tourism circuits, IT parks, and renewable energy corridors.
Additionally, it will propose strategies to attract both domestic and international investments, with a particular focus on public-private partnerships (PPPs), according to the notification issued by the DoNER Ministry.
