Tura, July 18: Following the unveiling of 133rd Durand Cup Trophy in Shillong on Thursday, the trophy showcase and a roadshow will also be held in Tura on July 20.
The roadshow will commence at 10.30 am and pass through PA Sangma Stadium, Nazing Bazar, Araimile, Tetengkol, Hawakhana, DC Office and SP Office. The convoy is scheduled to reach the Super Market by 12:30 PM, where Chief Minister, Conrad K Sangma will be present along with other dignitaries such as Speaker Thomas A Sangma and engage with the audience.
A signature campaign will be held to support Team Lajong followed by ticket distribution.
Performance by local bands will also mark the occasion.
This is the first time that the prestigious Durand Cup Trophy will be played in Meghalaya. It is the oldest club football tournament in Asia. It was first held in 1888 in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.
