Williamnagar, June 27: The East Garo Hills (EGH) District Police organized a program to mark the “International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” at Williamnagar. The program witnessed the presence of DIG(WR) Dr. Raghavendra Kumar MG. The event saw participation from school students and district heads of multiple departments.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Raghavendra Kumar emphasized the importance of collective efforts in combating drug abuse and the role of education in creating awareness among the youth. He appreciated the involvement of students and lauded the district police for their ongoing efforts in organizing various awareness campaigns, including poster campaigns and a pencil sketching competition for school students.
The winners and runners-up of the pencil sketching competition were felicitated during the program, recognizing their creative contributions to the cause. This initiative aimed to engage young minds in understanding and advocating against drug abuse through art.
