East Khasi Hills schools increase intake capacity to accommodate more students in class XI

Shillong, April 15: Different educational institutions in East Khasi Hills district have agreed to increase their capacity intake to accommodate more students, who are seeking admission to class XI.

The decision was taken after a meeting convened by the district administration of East Khasi Hills with all the heads of educational institutions having plus two or HSSLC category on April 14, with an appeal to enhance their capacity to accommodate more students in their institution without compromising the quality of education.

“In this regard, the head of the institutions have revised their capacity and the same is put up in the district website (https://eastkhasihills.gov.in),” the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills said in a statement on Tuesday.

The existing capacity in the HSSLC as recorded in the state is 51,000. However, this year the number of passed candidates in the SSLC is 55,475.
