Shillong, March 20: The Election Notification for the Tura Parliamentary Seat has been announced today through a notification in the Gazette of India and aspiring candidates can now file their nominations for the contest.

Nomination papers may be delivered by a candidate or any of his proposers to the Returning Officer in Room No. 101 of Deputy Commissioner’s Office (Main Building), West Garo Hills,Tura or to Smti Prettylisa K. Sangma, MCS, Assistant Returning Officer at Room No. 112 of Deputy Commissioner’s Office (Main BuiJding), West Garo Hills,
Tura between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM on any day (other than public holiday) not later
than 3:00 PM of 27th March, 2024 (Wednesday).

Forms of nomination paper may be obtained at the place and time aforesaid;

Nomination paper will be taken up for scrutiny at 11:00 AM on 28th March, 2024
(Thursday) in the office chamber of the Returning Officer, Room No. 101 of Deputy
Commissioner’s Office (Main Building), West Garo Hills, Tura.

Notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered either by a candidate or by any of his proposers or by his election agent who has been authorised in writing by the candidate to deliver it to either of the officers specified in paragraph (2) above at his office before 3:00 PM on the 30th March, 2024 (Saturday).

In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on 19th April, 2024
(Friday) between the hours of 7:00 AM and 4: 00 PM.
