The Faith Foundation presented an exploratory study titled “Indigenous Food and Its Linkage to Nutrition and Menstrual Health”, highlighting the value of local wild edibles, fish, and meats in supporting menstrual health. The team emphasized food as medicine and the critical role of nutrition for menstruating girls and women.

A key highlight of the programme was a skit performed by youth volunteers, tackling the taboos around menstruation and promoting open conversations. A “Menstrual Museum” was also set up, showcasing various menstrual products, informative posters, indigenous medicinal plants, and artwork by local adolescents. A special “Myths and Facts” corner was installed to dispel common misconceptions around menstruation.

She further stressed the need for parents and educators to prepare both boys and girls for puberty by discussing bodily changes and menstrual health openly.
