Tura, Mar 8: A blaze erupted in Tura’s fancy valley area on Friday morning damaging goods inside a godown before teams from the Fire and Emergency Services arrived on the scene to contain it.

According to official sources, the blaze broke out in a storage room at the residence of businessman Pradeep Goswami. No casualties were reported.

Locals and witnesses from the area claim that neighbours living adjacent to the godown regularly burnt their garbage in close proximity to the storeroom which may have caused the blaze.

The Proprietor of the godown, Pradeep Goswami informed that goods inside the store comprising of decorative materials, chairs, cloth fabrics, along with other items were destroyed in the fire.
