First in Meghalaya: CM to host pre-Budget consultation with public LIVE

Shillong, Feb 11: For the first time in the history of Meghalaya, the government is holding a pre-budget consultation with various sections of society and the public at large.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, who holds the finance portfolio, will give a presentation on the proposed budget for the financial year 2025-26 and will seek feedback and suggestions from stakeholders and the public.

As part of this initiative, which is the first of its kind, the finance department has made elaborate arrangements and invited different stakeholders, as well as the general public, to join the presentation LIVE on Feb 12 at 11:30 am and directly share their suggestions with the chief minister.

As the state progresses toward becoming a USD 10 billion economy, the discussion aims to engage citizens in shaping the state’s financial plans. This session will provide an opportunity for constructive dialogue on Meghalaya’s fiscal policies and upcoming budgetary allocations.

To ensure widespread participation, citizens are encouraged to join the discussion virtually via live stream and share their questions and suggestions through comments.

The government invites all stakeholders and the public to participate in this crucial conversation on Meghalaya’s financial roadmap for FY 2025-2026.

Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma will present the state budget on March 5, 2025.

The budget session of the 11th Meghalaya Legislative Assembly will be held from **February 28 to March 13, 2025.
