In a special interview with Hub News, one of the organisers, Breniar T. Sangma, shared the group’s motivation behind hosting the competition. The primary goal is to showcase the natural beauty of Bildeng Wari and promote tourism in the enchanting town of Bajengdoba. By attracting fishing enthusiasts to this exquisite location, they hope to foster a lasting connection between visitors and the captivating surroundings.

Sangma also revealed their efforts to enhance the fishing experience, stating that over 8 quintals of fish have been specially released into Bildeng Wari for the competition. He did mention that the lake is home to some turtles, but in the spirit of conservation, any angler catching a turtle during the event will be required to release it back into the lake, with their entry fee promptly refunded.

With ample space to accommodate over 1800 anglers, the organizers are expecting a sizable turnout, providing an opportunity for both participants and the local community to benefit from the event. Increased tourism in the area will not only delight visitors but also contribute to the economic well-being of the village.
