Guwahati, Mar 5: Five students of a high school in upper Assam’s Tinsukia district were injured after being attacked by a large group of unruly youths on Monday.
Sources said a mob of about 30 unruly youths suddenly appeared as the students were returning home after appearing in their examination.
According to reports, three of the students were seriously injured and rushed to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for treatment, the other two students managed to escape with minor injuries.
The injured students, treated for their injuries and blood loss were from St. Stephen’s High School in Tinsukia.
Meanwhile, Tinsukia police have started investigation into the case and started search operation to nab the culprits.
Sources said the rowdy mob initiated the confrontation and started physically assaulting the group of students, resulting in some of them sustaining head injuries.
