Four Meghalaya Police Service officers promote to IPS

Shillong, Feb 15: Four Meghalaya Police Service (MPS) have been promoted to the rank of Indian Police Service (IPS) via a notification issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday.

The four Police officers include – Maxwel Balahun Syiem, Lakador Syiem, Bobby Sengjrang Momin and Goldenbert Dean Kharwanlang.

In a notification, it states that the promotion is exercise under the provisions contained in sub-regulation (3) of Regulation 7 of the Indian Police Service (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, the Union Public Service Commission, on 12.02.2024 has approved the Select List of the year 2022 prepared by the Selection Committee ni its meeting held on 20.12.2023, containing the name of the following Meghalaya Police Service Officers towards filling up of 04 substantive vacancies in the Assam-Meghalaya Joint Cadre (Meghalaya Segment) of Indian Police Service.
