Shillong, April 11: As part of the World Health Day celebrations, Apollo Trinity Medical Center Shillong has launched a week-long series of health-focused activities aimed at raising awareness, offering free medical services and introducing the public to its expanding range of healthcare facilities.
Beginning April 7, Apollo Shillong has organised several outreach programs across the city.
On Friday, the center hosted a free medical consultation camp from 9 AM to 4 PM, featuring super-specialist doctors from various Apollo units.
Debapriya Deb, CEO of Apollo Trinity Medical Center Shillong, informed that the consultations are completely free and open to all citizens. He added that the response from the public has been “very encouraging,” with many residents availing the free consultation services.
As part of the week’s events, a free screening camp for morning joggers was held at Ward’s Lake on April 7. The center also conducted health awareness talks led by specialists Dr. Anujan Mukherjee and Dr. Shibi Thakur at the SBI headquarters in Shillong, along with a session on oncology and back pain by Dr. Chetan Kabra at the Lions Club of Shillong.
Tomorrow, the center will host a Basic Life Support (BLS) training session, with invitations extended to students, police personnel, NCC cadets, and members of the Bharat Scouts. “The training will be conducted by Apollo Guwahati, and participants will receive certificates,” Deb said.
“This health week has been our way of giving back to the community while showcasing Apollo’s capabilities and commitment to bringing quality healthcare closer to the people of Meghalaya,” he added.
