Guwahati, Oct 8: Garima Garg, wife of the late legendary singer Zubeen Garg, has appealed for patience and faith in the ongoing investigation into her husband’s death, following the arrest of Zubeen’s cousin and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sandipan Garg by the Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Garima said she learned about Sandipan’s arrest through social media.
“I also saw on social media this morning that Sandipan was called for some questioning, and later he was arrested. Maybe the authorities found some clue in his statement. The investigation is ongoing, and I cannot comment much on it. Whatever the law permits, the process will take its own course,” she said.

She added that the family, along with millions of Zubeen’s fans, is waiting for the truth to emerge.
“We, as family members, along with the rest of Assam and all of Zubeen Garg’s fans, are patiently waiting for the results. We have faith in the Indian legal and judicial system, and I believe they will take the right path and provide us with some answers soon,” Garima said.
Reflecting on Sandipan’s relationship with Zubeen, she described him as a young man whom Zubeen deeply cared for.
“During the years when we didn’t meet often, he was involved in modelling and acting, and even worked on a few projects with us. Zubeen was always supportive of new talents. Since Sandeepan is Zubeen’s brother — our first cousin — Zubeen loved him dearly. When he joined the police service, Zubeen was very proud of him and would tell everyone how impressive it was that he had entered the APS,” she recalled.
Garima also said that Zubeen was happy when Sandipan expressed his wish to accompany him abroad, noting that it was the first time he had done so.
“Zubeen was very happy to take him along,” she added.
