Shillong, Jan 29: Two-time legislator of Sohra, Gavin M Mylliem was appointed as president of the National People’s Party (NPP), East Khasi Hills District, on Monday.

Mawkynrew legislator Banteidor Lyngdoh and KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem was appointed as working president, Nongshken MDC Grace Mary Kharpuri, Mawphlang MDC Lamphrang Blah and Mawsynram MDC Alvin Khyriem Sawkmie and Sherbor Mawlong as vice presidents.

The others include Aibor Tynsong, Jansing Tynsong, Malcolm R Mylliemngap and Wonderson Dkhar as general secretaries, Auspicious L Mawphlang as treasurer.

The party also appointed 10 secretaries which include former Mawhati legislator Dasakhiatbha Lamare, Firstborn Dkhar, Alan West Kharkongor, K Beni Warjri, Richeal Wankhar , Bhaboklang Ryntathiang, Rito Sing Syiem, Kistoles Marbaniang, Traibor Nongkhlaw and Iantly Jurwa and Jiedsing Kurbah as adviser besides 26 executive members.

The appointment of the new office bearers was made after the meeting of the district executive committee (DEC) of the party, held at the Shillong Club.
