GHADC EC yet to accept Bernard’s support, NPP High Command’s nod awaited

Tura, June 11: The belated move at reconciliation and extension of support to the new NPP-led Executive Committee in the GHADC by rebel BJP MDC from Tura, Bernard Marak, has failed to create any wave within the Garo Hills Democratic Alliance headed by NPP.

A day after the BJP MDC met the GHADC CEM, Benedic R Marak and gave a letter of support to his EC, the NPP haven’t been amused by the sudden and dramatic turnaround by the Tura MDC who had previously taunted them and opposed moves at EC formation.
In an embarrassment to the BJP leader, the NPP through its GHADC CEM issued a statement stating that they were yet to accept his support to the ruling alliance.

“Yesterday (Thursday) a support letter was given by one of our colleague Bernard Rimpu Marak to our newly formed EC. I as a CEM of the newly formed EC would like to clarify on one thing that my EC is delighted for his support but the acceptance from our side is not confirmed because we have not got any intimation from our Party high command for the acceptance of his support letter,” stated CEM Benedic Marak indicating the NPP’s mind of displaying a cold shoulder to any overtures by the Tura MDC given his recent past track record.

“I would also like to add one more point that as we have accepted our colleague Pramod Koch in our EC under the guidance of our party high command and also his party is our alliance BJP, so the same intimation has to be given in order to confirm his support for our EC. But as I have said again in the beginning that we are delighted for his support but the future course of acceptance of his support will be done only after our party high command instructs,” announced the CEM indicating that the current dispensation has given its backing on the other BJP MDC, Promod Koch, who was the first to extend his support to them during the high stacks political game of the GHADC EC formation.
