Shillong, March 4: Meghalaya cabinet on Thursday decided to postpone polling for the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council (GHADC) from April 9 to April 12.
The decision to postpone the polling was taken in view of the third phase of polling in Lower Assam, which is scheduled for April 6.

Addressing the media, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said, “Lower Assam and Garo Hills region share close proximity and there are issues of logistics, security and manpower. Hence, Government has decided to postpone the polling for GHADC election”.
