GHADC session: Separate electoral roll issue raised

TURA, Nov 30: The two days session of the Garo Hills Autonomous District Council which ended on Tuesday, 29th November, was the last session for this year and one of the most important discussions that took place was on the need for a separate electoral roll for the council elections.

The opposition Trinamool members in the house had moved a motion on the issue and the NPP led ruling alliance had replied to the motion pointing out to various requirements and exercise needed for the separate electoral, it was informed.

The council budget for the remaining year before the next financial year was also presented in the house by CEM Albinush Marak and passed by a voice vote.

During the two day session, opposition Trinamool MDCs had raised the issue of non-completion of the MDCs Members Hostel and on tourism to generate revenue for Garo Hills.
