‘Giving power to Mukul’s TMC will bring in Bangladeshi infiltrators to Garo Hills’

Must read

TURA, 18 Feb: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has warned the people of Garo Hills to be alert and not fall victim to the tall claims of Mukul Sangma and the Trinamool Congress saying that a vote for the TMC is an advantage for illegal immigrants from Bangladesh which is in close proximity to Garo Hills.

Amit Shah said that giving power to the Trinamool will result in infiltration from Bangladesh and people should be wary of the West Bengal party because Bengal is facing a serious crisis of large scale infiltration from the neighbouring country with little or no steps taken to stop the flow.

Dalu is a border town in West Garo Hills and faces Bangladesh. It was also the scene of many battles and relief camps for fleeing Bangladeshis during the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

Amit Shah said that the entire geography and demography of Garo Hills would change by the mass infiltration from Bangladesh if Trinamool is voted to power. He said people of Garo Hills should be careful and alert.

He also said that development has been stagnant for many years in Meghalaya despite Garo Hills producing two chief ministers in quick succession for 13 long years. He termed both the Sangmas- Conrad and Mukul, as failures in leading the state to the path of development.
