Gracey Nandi Crowned Miss Shillong 2024; Mahima Sinha and Loretta Laloo Shine as Runners-Up in Glamorous Pageant Finale

Shillong, Nov 1: A dazzling evening at the U Soso Tham Auditorium set the stage for one of Shillong’s most celebrated events, the Miss Shillong 2024 pageant, organized by the Fashion Society Shillong. After fierce competition among 15 stunning participants, Gracey Nandi emerged victorious as she was crowned Miss Shillong 2024, with Mahima Sinha and Loretta Laloo securing the titles of first and second runner-up, respectively.

The competition took participants on a journey through three exciting rounds – Retro, Executive, and Evening Gown – where they showcased their charm, poise, and intellect, captivating the audience and judges alike. Esteemed personalities, including Chief Guest KHADC Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pyniaid Sing Syiem and Guest of Honor Fredrick R Kharkongor, graced the event, adding a touch of prestige to the already glamorous night.

Contestants committed to a rigorous month-long training program, designed to polish their skills and instill confidence, ensuring they were ready for the spotlight. The finalists impressed the judges with their talent, elegance, and articulate responses to questions, particularly on contemporary issues such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) – the subject of the winning question that sparked insightful responses from the contestants.

In addition to the main titles, various subtitles highlighted the unique qualities of each participant. Loretta Laloo was awarded the Viewers’ Choice Award by the Mawphor e-paper, while Angelina Jackson claimed the Viewers’ Choice Award from the Shillong Times e-paper. Other accolades included titles like Miss Beautiful Smile and Miss Sparkling Eyes, celebrating the diverse talents and beauty of each contestant.

The crowned Miss Shillong 2024, Gracey Nandi, took home a cash prize of 1 lakh rupees. First runner-up Mahima Sinha received 75,000 rupees, and second runner-up Loretta Laloo was awarded 50,000 rupees.

The pageant was a celebration of talent, intelligence, and beauty, leaving an indelible mark on Shillong’s fashion and cultural landscape.
