Gangtok, July 20: A 72-year-old woman was reportedly murdered by her own grandson at Andheri near Singtam town in Sikkim on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Chandra Maya Mukhia(72), a resident of Lower Chisopani near Andheri in Gangtok.
According to reports, she used to work in the famed Sikkim Supreme juice manufacturing factory nearby.
Meanwhile, Sikkim Police swiftly resolved the case within 4 hours, leading to the arrest of the grandson who allegedly used a sickle to fatally stab his grandmother multiple times.
“The investigation is currently underway to uncover the motive behind this tragic incident. We will provide further details of this case,” said a police official.
