Shillong, Nov 27: The Garo Students Union (GSU) Phulbari Regional Unit on Friday has clarified and opposed the statement made by GSU Western Zone North alleging that Phulbari unit leaders term in office has expired.
In a press statement issued on Friday, the GSU Phulbari unit General Secretary stated that the allegation made by GSU western Zone North was baseless and untrue.
Notably, on November 23 a statement appeared on local daily Kosi Songbad Garo News made by the GSU Western Zone North stating that Phulbari unit leaders term has expired.
The GS of Phulbari Unit stated that the unit has been re-reformed by the CEC Hq Tura last year and since then the Unit merged with Western Zone West Hq. Raksamgre.
“So there is no question for Western Zone North to call for election. A zone must have knowledge about current leaders even if we are not part of the zone. Are they trying to create factional GSU here in Phulbari?” further read the Press statement.
