Tura, April 5: The Garo Students’ Union (GSU), NEHU Unit, marked an important milestone with the oath-taking ceremony of its newly appointed members, held at NEHU Tura Campus on Friday.

The event symbolised the union’s renewed commitment to student advocacy, leadership and academic progress.

Presided over by Chief Advisor of the GSU Central Executive Committee (CEC), Manseng A. Sangma, the ceremony emphasised unity, accountability and student empowerment. The oath of office was administered by Teng’sak Gabil Momin, President of the GSU CEC, who urged the new members to uphold the values of integrity, service, and inclusivity in all their efforts.

“This ceremony reaffirms our collective resolve to champion student rights and address the academic and social challenges that students face,” said Manseng A. Sangma. “The GSU remains steadfast in its mission to empower youth through education and proactive leadership.”

The ceremony was attended by prominent student leaders, including Chechang M. Marak, President of the Rongram GSU Unit, and Pender Gabil Momin, General Secretary, highlighting the spirit of inter-unit collaboration. Members of the GSU Central Executive Committee and other local student representatives were also present to support and celebrate the new leadership.

The newly inducted office bearers of the GSU NEHU Unit are:
