Shillong, Feb 14: A gym owner in the city has been apprehended by the State Police on allegations of molesting a teenage staff on Friday (February 10).

After receiving complaints from the 19-year-old victim, an FIR was lodged against Raju Barua, the owner of Muscle Master Gym, Thana Road, Police Bazaar.

Barua is currently under police custody.

The victim has stated that she had only joined the gym for three days but the owner Barua called her to his cabin at the gym and instructed that she needed an oil massage as it will help in fats reduction. On refusal by the victim, the accused forced himself on her after she had refused to do the oil massage. It was when he was busy washing his hands the victim managed to fled from the gym.

The victim was later taken for a medical examination at Ganesh Das Hospital, Shillong on Monday.
