Shillong, March 05: The Superintendent of Police (SP) issued a notification on Tuesday restricting all types of heavy vehicles or trucks from plying towards Mawphlang and Sohra for three consecutive days on March 8, 9, and 10. The restriction will be enforced from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM for three days. This notification is in view of the upcoming Monolith Festival to be held at Mawphlang.
The notification stated that “in view of the Monolith Festival, it is expected that numerous vehicles of and from other districts will be attending the program. To avoid the inconveniences due to heavy plying of vehicles in various places of the city and upper Shillong area”, the decision was taken.
However, the notification informed that Emergency Service vehicles will be facilitated.
