SHILLONG, JUNE 1: Heroin with a net weight of 177 grams was seized from a bag lying in a small bush along the National Highway at Umkiang in East Jaintia Hills.
On Friday evening, police received a telephonic information from the reliable source to the effect that one black bag pack colour was lying near the road side of Umkiang NH 06 in a small bush suspected to contain illegal material/ articles inside the bag.

Accordingly, officers and staff from Umkiang PPP went to the area and conducted a search, police said.

During the search, the suspected bag pack was found to contain 18(Eighteen) nos. Soap boxes containing heroin with a net weight of 177 grams, they said.
