Assam set for glitch free counting, power backup, internet arrangements in place

Guwahati, June 1: Addressing a press conference, at Janata Bhavan Assam Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Anurag Goel on Friday said that the preparations for upcoming Assam Lok Sabha Election counting day are all set in place.

CEO Anurag Goel stated that “we have 152 counting halls, elaborate arrangements have been made in all the 52 counting centres. More than 5,800 counting employees will be involved in this. Extensive security arrangements have been made. The day-to-day responsibilities are given to the district police, which will be headed by DSP rank officer and magistrate or ADC rank civil officer.

We have taken care of power outages, power backup, generators, alternate generators and even inverters and internet arrangements for glitch free counting in Assam ADCs. ”

“I hope that the counting will be peaceful and will go move forward” he further stated.
