Guwahati, Jan 28: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing the media on Sunday officially declared the anticipated dissolution of the INDIA alliance, highlighting what he claims is the absence of a fundamental ideological basis within the coalition. Sarma contended that the alliance’s primary objective centered around defeating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, lacking a cohesive set of shared principles or beliefs.
His statement comes hours after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar submitted his resignation to Governor Rajendra V Arlekar on Sunday morning. .A new government with the support of the BJP will be formed shortly.

In his statement, Sarma acknowledged Prime Minister Modi’s global standing despite what he characterised as negative political maneuvers. He underscored Modi’s emergence as a world leader and suggested that the impending dissolution of the alliance stems from its inherent ideological vacuum and a singular focus on opposing the Prime Minister.
