HSPDP releases manifesto for upcoming assembly polls, promises to ‘protect rights of the Khasi tribe’; announces 4 more candidates

Shillong, Feb 2: The Hill State People’s Democratic Party (HSPDP) on Thursday released their manifesto for the upcoming Meghalaya Legislative Assembly elections 2023, and also implied that the manifesto was made with proper consideration to protect the rights of the Khasi tribe with special emphasis on land prevention.

According to HSPDP president KP Pangniang, the party manifesto has been made in such a manner that if the party forms government, it will govern with transparency, employment for the youth in the State as well as bring forward the demand for a Khasi-Jaintia State, to completely cease uranium mining, and to ban the railway lines if measures are not taken along with functioning of the Inner Line Permit amongst others.

The HSPDP also announced the names of four more candidates, which include Martle N Mukhim from Mawkynrew, Wyraiwan Sohtun of Mawryngkneng, Starfing Jove Langpem Pdah from the Mawsynram constituency, and Sandor Ryntathiang of Sohïong – who will be contesting against the NPP candidate Samlin Malngiang who was elected to the Assembly on HSPDP ticket in 2018 elections.

The HSPDP has officially announced 11 candidates who will fight for the upcoming assembly elections 2023 in the state.
