The Meghalaya Government on monday evaluated the performance of the Government Hospitals in the state and detailed discussions were held on how to further improve the services. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Health Minister Ampareen Lyngdoh said that the most critical requirement in the Government is the issue of human resources. During the meeting, there were also discussions about incentivizing the health personnel across the state since many of them are working in remote areas.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma flagged off the North Eastern Region Car Rally in Shillong on Monday as part of the Special Outreach Program to celebrate the 75 Glorious Years of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) at the Soso Tham Auditorium in Shillong. the NER Car Rally, brought together over 277 schools, 151 colleges, and 44 districts from across six states of the North East.The aim behind this Car Rally is to foster camaraderie among the youth, inspire them towards leadership, and instill a deep sense of patriotism.

Teinwel Dkhar, the incumbent Member of District Council (MDC) representing Shella Constituency, has announced his decision to abstain from the upcoming MDC election, citing health concerns. Dkhar, 60-years old emphasized that his choice is solely driven by his current health condition. Nevertheless, he affirmed his commitment to remain an engaged member of the United Democratic Party (UDP).

Congress MP Vincent H Pala on Monday inaugurated the Kambel Shullai Eco-Friendly Crematorium of Seiñraij Jowai at Khliehriat Turiem, Khliehryrshi along the Jowai – Shillong Road. The Crematorium was constructed with the Financial Assistance from the MP scheme. A short gathering was organised which was presided by the President of Seiñraij Jowai, Hercules Toi wei in the presence of the Dolloi of Elaka Jowai, Puramon Kynjing, the Waheh Chnong of Khliehryrshi Village Kitbok Rymbai, officials of Seiñraij Jowai and the family members of Rina Challam who had donated the plot of land for the same.

The initiative, in partnership with the Manbha Foundation, seeks to provide a lifeline to those battling substance dependency through a comprehensive De-addiction and Rehabilitation Programme at the Mawlai Mawkynroh Rehab Centre.The primary goal of this community-driven endeavor is to thoroughly comprehend the extent of drug abuse within the larger Mawlai area and its pervasive impact on society.

Voting for the elections to the 40 assembly seats in Mizoram will be held across the state on Tuesday . As many as 174 candidates from different political parties and independents are in fray in the Mizoram assembly elections. Around 50 companies of central forces have been deployed in Mizoram to ensure free and fair elections in the state.Out of the total 1276 polling stations across Mizoram, 30 have been identified as critical.Counting of votes for the Mizoram assembly elections will be done on December 03.

Seven women, accompanied by six infants, were apprehended by Tripura Police at the Dharmanagar Inter-State Bus Terminus (ISBT) in the North District.The police discovered and seized 12 kilograms of cannabis, meticulously concealed on their bodies with cello tape.The Officer-in-Charge of Dharmanagar Police Station revealed that they acted on information provided by the North District Superintendent of Police, Bhanupada Chakraborty, regarding the suspicious movements of these women with children and infants at the ISBT in Dharmanagar.

Nagaland’s Kenei Ritse won Miss Northeast 2023 title. She was representing BASN- Beauty and Aesthetics Society of Nagaland (Miss Nagaland Organization). Meanwhile, Anamika Borah from Assam was declared as the first runner-up. While Jennifer Renthlei from Mizoram was declared as the second runner-up.
