Shillong, May 5: The Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) on Monday demanded the state government to include the organization in any discussion related to the recruitment process in the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).
This came after the HYC was not invited to the meeting chaired by cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh with the NEIGRIHMS authority and Khasi Students’ Union (KSU).
In a letter to Lyngdoh, HYC president Roykupar Synrem said that the HYC had also submitted a representation to NEIGRIHMS deputy director on March 24 raising certain issues related to the recruitment process.

“We have also protested against the adamant attitude of NEIGRIHMS to address our concerns for the benefit and welfare of our indigenous youths and local population in general. Therefore, we urge upon you to take into consideration our representation also and involve our organization in any discussions and deliberations with the concern authority to address the issues arising out of the recruitment process in NEIGRIHMS,” he added.
