“I eagerly await a Korean delegation to Assam,” says Assam CM

Guwahati, Jan 20: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended a warm invitation to global investors during the Advantage Assam 2.0 roadshow held in Seoul on Sunday.

The event, organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in South Korea, drew over 140 business leaders and spotlighted Assam as a rising investment destination with immense potential for global collaboration.

Sharing his enthusiasm on social media, Sarma wrote on X, “I began the day in Seoul by speaking to over 140 business leaders at the Advantage Assam roadshow. Their enthusiasm for #AdvantageAssam2 was phenomenal. The Korean business community was inspired by India’s position as the world’s fastest-growing major economy and the unique opportunities Assam can offer to access this market.”

The roadshow served as a platform to highlight Assam’s strategic advantages, from its growing economy to its role as a gateway to India’s burgeoning market. Sarma underscored the state’s readiness to welcome investments and forge international partnerships.

“Coming to Assam will be very, very special,” the Chief Minister said, inviting the attendees to participate in the Advantage Assam conclave. “Our Ambassador will facilitate the visit. Please do come—I will eagerly await a Korean delegation.”

The event reinforced Assam’s emerging status as a key player in India’s economic growth story, with Sarma emphasizing the state’s potential to become a preferred destination for Korean businesses.
