Imphal, Mar 29: Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, a suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast has shaken a village in Manipur’s Jiribam district on Friday.
According to reports, the explosion rocked Durgapur village in Borobekra sub-division of Jiribam district in the wee hours on Friday
Sources said the incident occurred at around 2:20 am and caused significant damage to the shop but resulted in no casualties.
The IED bomb is alleged to be planted by unknown miscreants detonated outside the shop owned by H Manikumar Singh.
The authorities from the Borobekra police station in Manipur responded to the scene, an investigation in the case in launched and a case registered.
