ISRO said, “The images were captured on Saturday by the Lander Position Detection Camera (LPDC) from an altitude of about 70 km. The camera helps the lander module determine its position by matching it against an onboard moon reference map”.
India’s lander is expected to touch down on the moon’s south polar surface at 6:04 p.m. on Wednesday. If landed successfully, India will become the fourth country to achieve this feat after joining the US, Russia, and China.
