Imphal, June 7: The indigenous transgender people of Manipur under the Maruploi Foundation on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Manipur Governor, urging him to take step to stop the communal crisis in the state.

In the memorandum, they urged the Governor to take up necessary actions against the unlawful armed actors who are shooting, burning down houses and threatening the civilians, and to control and punish the Kuki militants who are breaking the SoO ground rules.

It further added, “Relief and rehabilitation of the internally displaced persons should be prioritized. Any new administrative structure proposed as a solution should be multi-ethnic in character, preserve and strengthen the composite and multi ethnic polity of Manipur.”

It also urged the Central Government to ensure all the security forces including Assam Rifles to carry out their duties in impartial and fair manner and refrain from any activities that may lead to communal conflicts.

Bonita Pebam of Maruploi Foundation, Manipur, further asked the Governor to pass an immediate order to halt the current communal crisis and instruct the Kuki militants under the SoO (Suspension of Operation) to abide by the ground rules of the SoO for restoring peace in the state.
