Agartala, Oct 9: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Sunday said that the state government has taken initiatives to highlight Neermahal on the global tourism map.
“Neermahal is an enchanting tourist destination in the state. The government is actively working to enhance its appeal to international tourists, including the ongoing renovation of the rooms inside Neermahal,” stated Dr. Saha during the closing ceremony of the traditional Neermahal Jal Utsav at Rajghat, Melagher today.
He also inaugurated the long-distance swimming competition and boating competition as part of the closing ceremony of Neermahal Jal Utsav.
A vibrant cultural program was organized to mark the occasion.
It’s worth noting that the 3-day traditional Neermahal Jal Utsav commenced on October 6.
During the closing ceremony, Dr. Saha shared his excitement about experiencing boating in the Rudra Sagar for the first time, emphasizing how the long-distance swimming and boating competitions added an extra dimension to the festival.
“The government will continue its efforts to further enhance the appeal of Neermahal Jal Utsav in the upcoming years. We are committed to showcasing Neermahal’s significance during the royal period on the global tourism map,” he affirmed.
MLAs Toffajal Hossain and Kishor Barman, Sepahijala District Magistrate Vishal Kumar, among others, were also in attendance.
