Tura, April 1: Addressing the growing need for skilled technicians in the region, the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Tura launched a 15-day executive training course for electrical and electronic appliances on Tuesday, sponsored by the District Commerce and Industries Centre (DCIC), Tura.
Held at the ITI Tura campus, the program introduced 50 trainees from various parts of Garo Hills region, keen on enhancing their technical expertise, to the fundamentals of electrical and electronic appliance repair.
The 15-day program aimed to equip participants with practical hands-on training, including troubleshooting techniques, component identification and safe repair practices of common household appliances, ranging from refrigerators and washing machines to televisions and other electronic devices.
The program offered free lodging, food and training facilities to all participants, ensuring accessibility for individuals from across the region. The inaugural event was graced by Crening S. Sangma, Principal, Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Tura; Milton R. Marak, Deputy Inspector of Electricity, and Biondie D Shira, Functional Manager, DCIC Tura, where they motivated the trainees to fully utilize the free training opportunity and develop valuable skills.
