Shillong, Sept 15: The Education Cell of the Jaintia Students’ Union (JSU) on Wednesday appealed to the state government to address the problems faced by the students in getting admissions to Class XI at various government education institutes because most of the students are from economically weaker section of the society.

The Union informed that the admissions at Kiang Nangbah Government College, Government Boys Higher Secondary School and the Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Jowai are over but there are more than 1,700 students who are yet to get admissions to various steams of Class XI.
Therefore, the Union requested the government to look into the matter seriously in the interest of the students of Jaiñtia Hills.
