Boko, Aug 17: Kamrup Police has arrested an inter-state thief, Shah Rukh Khan, from Guwahati on Friday. Additional SP of Kamrup, Kalyan Pathak, and Officer in-Charge of Chhaygaon PS, Bhaskar Mall Patowary, led the police team in the operation.
Patowary said they received specific information that one interstate stolen RRU (Remote Radio Unit) receiver namely Shah Rukh Khan of Uttar Pradesh has taken sheltered at Dhiren Para in Guwahati.
Accordingly the information was shared to SP Kamrup, Ranjan Bhuyan, and, as per his instructions, a raid and search operation was conducted at Dhirenpara Milonpur in the rented house of Sah Rukh Khan, where he was apprehended.
Patowary informed that Sah Rukh Khan is from Kalimpur under Khatoli Police Station of Muzaffarnagar District in UP. Police recovered seven RRUs from his rented house and accordingly, as per his confession, another five RRUs were recovered from another Flat. The market value of the seized 12 RRUs is estimated to be around Rs 45-60 lakhs.
During enquiry, it was unveiled that the stolen RRUs are sold in Delhi-based market and sent to Bangladesh, Africa from Delhi. In this regard a suo moto case has been registered at Chhaygaon PS vide Chhaygaon PS Case -289/24 U/S 305/317/112 BNS.
It is to be mentioned that the Remote Radio Unit (RRU), also known as a Remote Radio Head (RRH), is a transceiver that’s often installed in wireless base stations and towers. RRUs connect wireless devices to wireless networks, allowing users to send and receive text messages and other data.
