Shillong, Sept 3: KHADC chief Pyniaid Sing Syiem on Tuesday said people from Nongthymmai have approached him to contest the upcoming MDC election from the constituency. However, he is yet to take any call on the matter.
Reacting to reports, Syiem, who is a sitting MDC from Mawryngkneng, said that there was a proposal from the leaders and supporters of the NPP from both the constituencies that he should seek re-election from Nongthymmai constituency instead of Mawryngkneng constituency.
Stating that he is yet to take a call on the matter, the KHADC chief said there is need to discuss with all his supporters and workers.
He informed that a decision will be taken after a meeting with all party workers and supporters from Mawryngkneng constituency, next week.
According to him, people from Nongthymmai have approached him following his defeat in the 2023 MLA elections.
