The inauguration programme was attended by Karbi Anglong, Assam MP Horensing Bey, Boithalangso MLA Rupsing Teron and KAAC EM Pardeep Rongpi.
In a press statement, CEM stated that the newly inaugurated stadium is in a disputed land between the two states where no development works should be taken up but to maintain status quo. The CEM stressed that as per the meeting between the DC of Ribhoi district and DC of Hamren West Karbi Anglong has mentioned clearly that both the states should not take any development works and maintain status quo.
“The CM of both states time and again has mentioned to maintain the status quo, we are being prohibited to even construct a small pavement for the locals as it is a disputed area but the Government of Assam inaugurated such a huge developmental project, this is something unacceptable” said the CEM in a press release.
The CEM of KHADC further urged the State Government and the concerned department to seriously examine into the matter and the EC along with all the MDCs of the KHADC will call an emergency meeting with the King of Raid Nongtung and the village leaders of Umlaper.
