Shillong, Nov 9: Rajya Sabha MP and State president of the National People’s Party (NPP), Dr WR Kharluki has expressed that the AITC in Garo Hills is not as strong as they are projecting themselves to be.
“As far as my knowledge, they are not that strong as much as they project themselves,” opined the MP.
Currently, AITC has 6 MLAs in Garo Hills.

Dr Kharluki also said the NPP is working to get an absolute majority in the upcoming election in 2023. “We are preparing throughout the whole state not only in Garo Hills, we are working to get an absolute majority,” he said.
On being asked about Dr Mukul Sangma’s continuous allegations and attack on the government on different issues in his campaign, the NPP leader said it is their role as the opposition, they will have to attack the government and the party in power, however, at the end it is up to the people to decide.
