Kitborlang Nongrem elected as NPYF’s Meghalaya unit president

Shillong, Jan 29: The National People’s Youth Front (NPYF), the youth wing of National People’s Party (NPP), elected Kitborlang Nongrem as its new Meghalaya Unit president on Saturday in the party’s main office at Shillong.

Speaking to reporters, Nongrem said his main motive is to strengthen the party in the state, to enroll new members both at the district and block level and to reconstitute the existing ones at both the district and block level.

“My top priority as the Youth president of the state wil, be to create an atmosphere of oneness and brotherhood within the party where there will be no communal differences within the party,” said Nongrem.

He informed that the NPYF will soon start the enrollment of new members in both online and offline mode.

The newly elected NPYF state chief futher stated that the youth wing of NPP will support the government on the issue of ILP and relocation of Harijan Colony among other pending issues.

Lauding the NPP-led MDA government, Nongrem said that this is the only government that has taken the ILP issue seriously. “The NPP led government brought the ILP issue on the floor of the House ( Assembly) and has passed an absolute resolution on this matter and the decision is (pending) with the central government now,” added Nongrem.
