Guwahati, Oct 19: Across the country, preparations for Navratri are in full swing, with vibrant celebrations echoing nationwide. Navratri, a significant Hindu festival, witnesses people worshiping and fasting during the nine days, honoring the nine different forms of Goddess Durga.
The renowned Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati, Assam, draws devotees, especially from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh, who gather atop the Neelachal Hills to worship Goddess Durga and her nine avatars during Navratri.
This ancient tantric center dedicated to Goddess Kamakhya is renowned among the 51 Shakti Peeths. Devotees believe that prayers here fulfil their wishes, especially during Navratri. The temple’s unique ritual involves offering flowers in a pool believed to be connected to Goddess Sati’s yoni, symbolising devotion and reverence.
