Shillong, Feb 29: The Khasi Students’ Union – Jowai Circle today inspected the Hostel of the Govt. Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Jowai after receiving complaints that the Hostel has not been operational.
The Union also met the Principal of the school who informed that the school had sent reminders to the Department concerned and an inspection was conducted in 2023 where it was found that the Hostel is not repairable.
Furthermore the Union also stated that they will follow up the matter so that it will benefit the students who reside in the rural areas of Jowai.
It may be mentioned that the Hostel can accomodate around 80 students is not in functional condition since 2018.
