KSU places banners across city, reminds people of Mukroh Firing incident on 1st anniversary

Shillong, Nov 22: One year ago, a dark cloud covered the entire state as five innocent people from Meghalaya were killed in a police firing at Mukroh Village in West Jaiñtia Hills District . Therefore, on Wednesday, marking exactly one year since the incident, members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) erected flexes and banners across the city to remind people of the Mukroh firing incident that claimed five local lives on November 22, 2022.

The KSU placed banners in areas near the main Secretariat Building, Mot Kiang Nangbah near Civil Hospital in Shillong, Khyndai Lad, Motphran, locations in Laitumkhrah Square, and in the Golflink areas.

Assam halt your intrusions!!!”, another reads, “Shi Snem kynthih la dap hadien ka jing shah pyniap dusmon ki para khasi ha Mukroh. Ka Sngi kaba dum iaka Jaitbynriew”. Six people were killed, and two were severely injured in police firing on the morning of November 22, 2022, at Mukroh village in West Jaintia Hills district, Meghalaya.

Some of the banners reads, “Mukroh is a part and Parcel of Meghalaya!!! Assam halt your intrusions!!!”, another reads, “Shi Snem kynthih la dap hadien ka jing shah pyniap dusmon ki para khasi ha Mukroh. Ka Sngi kaba dum iaka Jaitbynriew”.
