Tura, June 26: On the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, students from Little Flower School, Tura performed a compelling skit at Najing Bazaar parking bay in Dakopgre, West Garo Hills on Wednesday.
The skit was performed to raise awareness on the impacts of drug abuse and the importance of prevention.
Earlier, the students took out a rally from their school to Najing Bazaar, raising anti-drug slogans and carrying posters with messages of ‘Say No To Drugs’ and ‘Drug Free Zone’ and chanting the slogan, ‘Drugs Ko Jegalbo’ (meaning abstain from drugs) along with the beats of the drum throughout the rally.
At the designated spot, the students performed the skit which was aimed to educate and emotionally connect with the audience about the dangers of drug abuse. This initiative underscored the school’s commitment to social responsibility and holistic education.
Managed by William Initiative, a Non-Governmental Organization dedicated to the school’s overall development and student growth, Little Flower School Tura integrates global observances like this to foster empathy, civic duty, and leadership among students.
