Tura, Apr 19: NPP chief and Meghalaya CM Conrad K Sangma drove himself to the polling station, waited for 2.5 hours to cast his vote.
Sangma reached Walbakgre polling station at 6:30 am with the hope to be amongst the early voters but had to wait for 2.5 hours plus to cast his vote.
Speaking to Hub News, he expressed his optimism on the turnout. He said that he has relieved his security, driver and team to enable them to cast their votes.
He choose to drive from his residence to the polling station this morning.
“Everyone from the team has been send to cast their votes. Few security from the district, who have already cast their votes are with me,” he said.
