Angie Marweiñ from Meghalaya reaches Top 7

Shillong, October 17: Angie Marweiñ from Meghalaya made her state proud by reaching the top 7 at the prestigious Femina Miss India 2024 and winning the coveted Miss Multimedia subtitle.

Marweiñ achievement brought attention to Meghalaya on a national stage, as she stood out among 30 state contestants who competed after undergoing extensive training.

The grand finale, held in Mumbai, saw Nikita Porwal from Madhya Pradesh crowned as Femina Miss India 2024. Rekha Panday from Union Territories secured second place, while Ayushi Dholakia from Gujarat finished third. Nikita, who started her career as a TV anchor at just 18, was crowned by last year’s winner, Nandini Gupta and adorned with the Miss India sash by Actress and Model- Neha Dhupia.

The event featured dazzling performances, including one by Sangeeta Bijlani, and appearances from celebrities such as Neha Dhupia and Raghav Juyal. As the newly crowned Miss India, Nikita will represent India at the Miss World pageant, following in the footsteps of Aishwarya Rai, Priyanka Chopra, and Manushi Chhillar.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the Miss India pageant, a special anthem titled “Rise of Queen” has been released globally, celebrating the legacy of the competition.
