Imphal, Aug 7: In a major development that is seen by many as a blow to the Biren singh led government in Manipur, the powerful valley region based civil society group.

The Coordination Comittee on Manipur Intregirty Or COCOMI has announced
indefinite social boycott against Manipur government.

The COCOMI called upon all people in the state to support the boycott and not extend aid and cooperation to any government measures.

Jeetendra Ningomba, COCOMI coordinator said, “altogether five resolutions were taken on the day of the rally, but the government has failed to fulfill or initiate works for any of the resolutions, therefore COCOMI had called the indefinite social boycott against the state as a result of the state’s utter disregard of the people”.

He said, indefinite social boycott against the Manipur government was called for allegedly defying the people’s resolutions taken on July 29 rally by COCOMI, especially of convening a special assembly session within August 5.

The committee called upon all people in the state to support the boycott and not extend aid and cooperation to any government measures.

“We urge all not to cooperate with any measures of the state authorities during the boycott, not to attend any govt event” Ningomna added.
